Annalee
Annalee is a beautiful grey filly out of one of our top producing mares, Annalese and by the one and only Oliver. Annalee is shedding out to be the beautiful dapple grey colour just like her Mum. Here is a filly I just want to squeeze! She is just like a teddy bear, full of hair with the cutest little face. This filly is out of a heavy liver chestnut mare and by our stallion Coates Thunder. We call her Silver Socks as she has the whitest mane tail and socks and has flecks of silver in her feathers too. Her Father 'Thunder' (see stallions page) has sired chestnuts, black silver dapples and silver bays from black, bay mares so although we have not tested him yet we think he is carries the silver gene. We also think Silver Socks may be a silver chestnut.

Silver Shimmer
The only Grulla gypsy cob colt known to date! Out of Coates Shadey Lady and sister to Coates Autumn (now in Denmark) and Coates Dusk still here with us).
This colt is very well put together, so much so that we will absolutely keep him to add to our stallion line up should he not sell before then. He has a short back, good feather, beautiful head and good tailset. In addition to this he has a wide chest and is a really stout foal, which is particularly obvious when you see him next to foals his same age.

Dusk is a beautiful grulla mare. Certainly the most unusual colour in the gypsy cob to date we were very lucky to find this small family! Purchased with pregnant Mum and sister we have only ever known of one other grulla cob filly to date!
Regardless of her colour we value this mare very highly she is what we are looking for in any mare. Small, neat, pony head and ears, arched neck, quality bone, PLENTY OF FEATHER (still growing back as she was bog burnt when we bought her) and a lovely big, strong apple rump with good tail set.

A very sweet, kind 2 year old gelding. Tonto is the one the children are always playing with as he is so kind and although he is completely unbroken and tethered next to his play friends he let's them climb all over him without batting an eyelid!

Bambi filly

This filly is obviously a bit underweight but after only 2 weeks of good food she has put some on already and has done again since these pictures! Also as you can see she is feeling good! I adore this filly she is sooo sweet and gentle, yet so playful to watch, she is a complete timewaste, I have found myself watching her for a good half an hour in the field, too cute!

Dusty TESTED black silver dapple
Dusty is a trememdously heavy colt. We have never seen so much feather on such a young colt. Alongwith this feather Dusty as a short back, good bone and is tight and compact, just how we like them. He is as traditional as they come!
He is shown here at 6 months old and is expected to make 14hh-14.1hh.
One thing that is especially unique about this colt and makes him even more desireable to some as a stallion prospect is that he is not a son of the famous 'Business' stallion or that same line as are most. Therefore you could very easily cross him with cobs of Business lines without worries of inbreeding and so on.

Polly is a coming 6 year old chestnut mare who stands at a traditional 13.2hh. Polly is an exceptional driving pony and this is spoken from first hand experience.
Polly was purchased on Appleby 2008 where she pulled a wagon ON HER OWN several miles to the fair. She is not the tallest mare but she has a strong heart and loves to be driven. Promise is what all the breeders are striving to breed for. We are not referring to height as whether we are talking top breeders who are breeding for the pony types or top breeders who are breeding for the taller types this filly has THE 'type' that every top gypsy cob should possess. Sinead
Sinead is a stunning black silver dapple mare. She stands at a chunky 14.2hh and is the heaviest black silver dapple mare we have seen or owned. Having said this Sinead doesn't have all of her hair/feathers 'in' at the moment as when we bought her last October she literally looked as though someone had shaved them off as she had been kept in a very very wet, boggy field. Give her another few months and they will be back to the way they were, incredible. However it does have to be said considering she is not even washed here she has more than most already!

Dana COLOUR RESULTS BELOW
Dana is a lovely black silver dapple mare (TESTED SEE COLOUR RESULTS BELOW). She has a rich chocolate coat and a thick and bright golden mane and tail.
Dana is broken to drive and has done some riding too. She has a beautiful head, good legs and a very sweet disposition. I actually have pictures of Albert riding Dana loose in a field with no headcollar or rope although she is very muddy in them!

We are not sure what colour Chico will turn out! For those of you who know us well, you might remember our Business x Diamond Cutter mare, colt 'Harvey'. As I am sure you will agree he is hardley recogniseable these days and is quite the stud rather than his previous ball of fluff!

Topsy - TOP Quality Mare
This is a SUPERB new mare standing at a heavy 14.3hh. Petal
Petal is a lovely traditional black and white well marked 2 year old filly to make a chunky 14.2hh/14.3hh. As you can see this young filly is LOADED with hair! She has a really thick, long and busy mane and forelock, a thick bushy tail, loads of hair and a traditional gypsy build. Petal also has inkspots in her coat and can be tested homozygous for tobiano gene.
Petal's Sire was a heavy black and white horse who stood at 14.2hh and was loaded with hair (obviously where she get's it from!) and Petal's Dam is a black and white heavy Conner's mare from Ireland who stood at 14hh. We were told Petal's Sire is a son of Lion King.

Coates Riverdance
In the early hours of Tuesday 25th April 2006 our stock mare 'Annalese' (see fourth picture) foaled a beautiful filly who we named 'Coates Riverdance'. Riverdance's Mum 'Annalese' is a well bred five year old stunning blue dapple mare and very well bred. Her Grandfather is the well known 'Shamus Horse' and her Great Grand Father is none other than 'Grey Bobby'.
This beautiful foal's Sire is the incredible chestnut horse known as 'Elvis's horse'. If you do not know him he is a 'picture portrait' with LOADS of flaxen feather mane and tail. He also has four white legs and a white face. His Father is the well known 'Billy Boy' and this horse is known as one of the BEST plain coloured horses in the UK and Ireland.
This filly is going to be a topper, she has the looks, the conformation the breeding AND the movement!

Gem is a beautiful BIG black and white mare who stands at 15.1hh at only 3 years old. As you can see she has plenty of body and hair, quality joints and a quality head (it is very hard to find all of this in the big types).

Tina Turner
This is our latest huge purchase. She is a filly we bred and owned just over a year ago before we sold her on. Since meeting her again at one of the recent fairs we had to have her. She currently stands at a tiny 11hh but has the body and hair of a 5 year old mare. This is EXACTLY how a gypsy cob should look, we see hundreds of them every day and she still takes our breath away. Anyone who can find a fault in this little lady does not know the gypsy cob. Legs, back, head, ears, body, hair/feather, joints, bone, tail set etc etc she scores 100% every time!
This filly is 15 months old and we are awaiting DNA confirmation of her breeding before we release any information, so please bear with us....even though we know how she is bred as we bred her we want it on paper as this is a filly for the future!

Belou BIG GIRL and in foal
Belou is a blue and white filly who is rising 2 years. She is expected to make 15hh-15.1hh.
Belou is scanned in foal to one of our very well bred black and white 15hh stallions who we are also using on our own mares. Please note his picture is not on the website yet as he is not available for outside stud 'yet'.
Belou has tons and tons of the best straight, silky feather and it glistens in the sunlight. Here is a STUNNING gelding who is 14hh now and only rising 2 years. He is broken to ride and drive.

Mr Biker Conners
Mr Biker Conners stands at 14.2hh and is 5 years old. His Father is Young Henry Conners who over the years has become one of the most proven stallions in Southern Ireland. His Father is of course Henry Conners.
Biker Conner's Dam is a proven mare who's Father is the famous Lob. Lob goes back to Piebald Luke who was another very well bred Stallion over the years.
Biker Conners was bred by Micky Conner's and Old Biker Conner's bought him from him. Then Old Biker Conner's sold him to TH who brought him over from Wexford, Ireland to the UK. TH called him 'Biker Conner's after the man he bought him from.
Biker Conners is a horse who has a very good temperament, is very easy to handle and very well mannered. He is very good in harness and an incredibly sensible horse in traffic.
Overall a very very easy horse to get on with we cannot say enough about him.

Bliss
14.1hh beautiful mare, exceptional temperament and well broken to ride. This is everything a gypsy cob should be with regards to conformation, temperament and stamina.
Bliss has very nice markings with splashes and checks...she has loads of hair and that is with being bog burnt. You can see she is bog burnt and not just light in feather as the hair starts at the top of her leg and is thick and full continuously until you get to the bottom which is where the hair would obviously be on/in the boggy ground.
We plaited her forelock so you could appreciate her unusual, flashy markings hidden under that long and thick forelock!

Lizzie NEW PICTURES
Lizzie is a black and white yearling filly. She will be two this Summer. She is EDDY HORCOCKS bred. Her Father was a black horse who goes back to LOBDEER HORSE and BLACK BOB and her Mother was a black and white mare.
She is expected to make 14.3hh and is a very nice tempered filly. As you can see she lets you do what you want to her!
Please note as you can see this filly's usually has feather over her foot but it is 'bog burnt'. She also has feather from the hock as you can see, when it grows back she will be HEAVY!
This filly also has what we call 'britching hair'. This is hair at the back of their back leg, above the hock where the harness britching would go. This is what we associate with a heavy horse as the hair would protect the harness from any rubbing.

Violet is a very quiet black and white 4 year old mare. She produced a very nice foal last year 'Buttons' (see fillies page) and is in foal again for August 2006 to 'Jingles'. Bonnie SALE PENDING
Bonnie is a eight year old very well bred mare who's brother is the well known 'Lottery Horse'. This is on her Mother's side as they are both out of a good red and white mare (Jo Wiltshire's breed). Her Father is out of 'The Roadsweeper'. She is also in foal to a superb horse who is Fenella/Mona Lisa's brother. As you can see she is a heavy mare standing at around 14hh. She has a very pretty head and stunning markings. She also has tremendous feather (please note she is not washed out in these pictures - once washed she has double) as well as a lovely thick and long mane and tail, with a forelock that reaches the end of her nose. She is very easy to handle (even by children next to a busy road, pic 3) and has a extremely quiet and friendly temperament with people and horses (as you can see from the pictures as she is running loose but still likes to come and say hello!). Lonely
Lonely is Grandson to the famous 'Lobdeer Horse' and we call him his 'mini-me'! He is so heavy in bone and feather it is unreal and he is so quiet, fun and friendly you will want to take him into your home! He is the most adorable, friendly, quietest and best tempered foal we have EVER come across. He is only 9 months old. We named him Lonely as he is usually away from the horses and following people around trying to get attention! We think this may be due to his Mum dying when he was only three weeks old and then being bottlefed. He is only a little lad and should make 12.2hh but would make a super breeding pony, childs pony or adult driving pony...he would be very good to breed the small gyspy cobs as he has the back breeding and the great temperament! This little cob is faultless and if you ever met him I guarantee you would take him even if you were looking for a 17hh showjumper!
Lonely's Mother was a 13.3hh black and white mare by the famous 'Lob'. His Father was a black and white horse also by the famous 'Lob'. This is what us gypsies call 'blood breeding' or 'line breeding' and as you can see when you know what you are doing the results are amazing..and there is no doubt that Lonely's breeders (Paddy and Tom Conners known as Tom Bally Williams) didn't know what they were doing as they actually bred the Lob, bred Lonely's Father and then Lonely. Lonely's Mother was bought for £17,000 so you can imagine what she was like ; )

Maggie (in foal for 2006)
Maggie is an unusually marked black mare with four white legs. She is six years old and has mainly been used for breeding as she produces such high quality foals. She had a very good 2005 black and white filly foal and is in foal again (due 2006) to the same horse. Maggie is also very well bred - her Father was a good black and white horse and her Grandfather (his Dad) was called 'The Boss'(the black and white father to the well known chocolate palamino stallion known as 'The Business'). On her Mother's side she is related to 'Lobdeer' (he was her Great Great Grandfather) and her Mother (his Great Grandaughter) was a black blagdon mare which is obviously where she gets her unique markings and colouring from! Sweets is a black and white, well-marked filly out of two very well bred gypsy cobs, and is rising 2 years. She is exceptionally eye-catching with her ‘splash’ markings, good joints, silky feather and neat head.
Sweets has a lovely long mane and tail, friendly temperament and is a distant relative of Mary-Lou. She also has good bone and a short back. As quite a small filly we believe she will make approximately 12.3hh.
Sweets is currently running with ‘Elvis’and is waiting to be scanned in foal.

Olive
Olive is 9 months old and the daughter of ‘Oliver’ and a very well bred dapple-grey mare with all the qualities of a true gypsy cob.
As you can see from the photographs, like her half-sister Bluey, Olive has an abundance of feather, a small and neat head, very pretty face, thick mane and tail, short back and once again incredibly impressive hocks and flat joints.

Bluey
As the daughters of Oliver, Bluey and Olive are certainly the two most promising foals we have seen this year.
Only nine months old, Bluey has striking blue markings, an exceptionally pretty face and small quality head. She also has outstanding conformation with strong, flat joints, good bone, good hocks and a short back. What's more, as we’re sure you will agree, for such a young foal Bluey also has far more than her fair share of feather.

Indie
Indie is a very well marked mare, has good quality bone and is very friendly and easy to handle. She stands at approximately 14.2hh and has a good leg action. Indie has just turned eight years old and has always been used as a brood mare due to the fact that she produces good coloured foals over and over again. As you can see her last foal (2004-'Dolly') was a lovely black and white filly.
Please note that Indie 'did' have a good tail but her foal took a liking to chewing it! Before Dolly grew her teeth you can see it was down to the floor! This will certainly grow back in no time!

Molly
Molly is an 8 year old mare standing at approximately 14.1hh. She has been running with one of Michael Vine's Gypsy Stallions but waiting to be scanned in foal.
She is originally from Ireland and a mother to some very good youngstock including a superb blue and white filly foal.
